FAQ
What is Skycast?
Skycast is an informational dashboard that converts weather-market settlement stations into “market-style” outcome bins, similar to Polymarket temperature markets, but with no betting or trading.
What does “Now” mean?
“Now” is a live station observation when available. For most cities that means airport METAR data; Hong Kong and Taipei use direct official city-station feeds instead.
Where do the forecast bins come from?
Bins are computed from forecast model data (Open-Meteo and/or Tomorrow.io depending on configuration). The probabilities are estimates intended for quick comparison, not guarantees.
What time zone is “Today/Tomorrow” based on?
Skycast uses each market station's local day, not a single Eastern Time cut. That keeps the displayed forecast window aligned with the station that the market resolves against.
What are the settlement reference links?
Many markets reference Weather Underground for settlement, while some use official city observatory pages. Skycast only displays those references for convenience and does not depend on scraping them for the core forecast model.
Can I rely on this for decisions?
No. This tool is provided as-is for educational and informational purposes only. See the Terms for details.
